Our music video doesn't have a particular story or narrative, but this is because our music video is based off of an indie-R&B-soul song, and a standard convention of indie-genre music videos is that they don't have a set narrative. Even though our music video doesn't have a story or narrative we have been able to use Goodwin's Theory which has helped to make our music video very different but successful.
To compensate for no narrative we have been trying to focus on the artist and trying to make sure we portray the artist in a good way which helps to represent the type of music she's promoting. We did this by following the genre conventions like Mise-en-scene with the use of costumes, props, lighting, location and make-up.
The music video that we have created is a combination of short clips to keep the video at the same pace as the song. We have also used a varied amount shot type for example, close ups, zooms and mid shots. This links in with Goodwin's theory about advertising the artist.
