Amy Millan - Album Cover Analysis

Amy Millan album cover analysis
To help us with the production and completion of the digi-pack, I have chosen to look at some examples of album covers that have already been made by music artists whose music genre matches with the music genre of our music video.

The album cover titled "Honey From The Tombs" is a good example of an album cover that has the name of the album placed in a position that doesn't cover up interesting features of the background.
Since the artist is wearing dark clothes such as a black suit and a brown tie, these colours match up effectively with the background to portray a "dark and unsettling mood" to the image.
The colour scheme used for the front and back covers match effectively as well, as the black and brown colour scheme is used in both of these to portray the mood mentioned above, as the mood and colours used for the front and back of an album cover must share some similarities, otherwise people don't know what to expect from your album in terms of the genre of music, or the mood of the songs on the CD.
Certain things used for the back of the album cover, such as the bar code, a track listing, logos, copyright information and the name of the music studio are all placed in the back cover, just as you would expect from a standard CD album cover, and these elements will be very useful as we progress further with the production of our digi-pack.
